Mud Lake is a bird sanctuary in the city of Ottawa, down by the river near the filtration plant. On any day you will see a wide variety of birds and other wildlife some of whom are quite tame and others who can be very illusive. I was fortunate to day to have the chance to see young birds being fed by their parents and a Great Blue Heron fishing. I met a large number of bird watchers and other photographers, some very talented.

I have been uploading photos and modifying pages to make the user experience more comfortable and intuitive.

Still trying to get images to appear in the view of each folder but no luck so far.

Pretty happy with Zenfolio. The speed is good once the pictures have been uploaded for a day. There seems to be a lag on new pictures loading that I cannot figure out. I will keep testing.

No photo shoot today but I had a fun one yesterday from 5:00 p.m. till about 9:00 then we grabbed a bite before Marley hot the road to for her 90 minute drive. She is moving to Vancouver in 2 weeks so it will be my last shoot with her for a while...at least. Lots of editing to do for that one but she's pretty and the results will be worthwhile.

 

]]> https://www.iandaltonphoto.com/blog/2015/6/updating-my-new-website-before-it-officially-goes-live Wed, 01 Jul 2015 01:21:51 GMT Britannia Beach Ultimate Tournament https://www.iandaltonphoto.com/blog/2015/6/britannia-beach-ultimate-tournament I had a great time on Saturday, June 27th, taking photographs at the Ultimate Frisbee tournament put on by OCUA, the Ottawa Carleton Ultimate Association. 

Sixteen teams of amazing athletes were showing off their skills on a hot sunny day. I have played the sport for many years and I love taking pictures of the game. The athleticism required to play at a high level is astounding and as a co-ed sport, the photographic opportunities are brilliant.
